ANOTHER ANTI-DRUG OPERATION IN BATAD: TWO ARRESTED, ₱557K WORTH OF SHABU SEIZED

BATAD, ILOILO – June 30, 2026

The campaign against illegal drugs continues in the province of Iloilo following the arrest of two individuals in a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Hamod, Batad, Iloilo, on the evening of June 25, 2026.

Details of the Operation

The operation was conducted by the SDET Team of the Batad Municipal Police Station (MPS), led by PCPT John Predic C. Padilla, in coordination with PDEU Team 3, led by PMAJ Dadjie B. Delima.

The suspects were identified as alias "Mike," 40, a beautician classified as a High-Value Individual (HVI) and a resident of Brgy. Sta. Ana; and alias "Jas," 34, a resident of Brgy. Bagacay, San Dionisio. Authorities confiscated approximately 82 grams of suspected shabu with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of ₱557,600.00.

Legal Basis: Republic Act 9165

The suspects are facing charges for violating Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. This law provides for severe penalties for the sale, possession, and organization of illegal drug-related activities.

Context: Series of Operations (2025-2026)

This arrest adds to the list of successful operations in the town of Batad and across Iloilo:

• February 19, 2026: Local police, along with PDET 3, conducted an operation in Brgy. Batad Viejo, Batad, Iloilo. Authorities seized 65 grams of shabu valued at ₱442,000.
• Regional Statistics: In 2025, the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) recorded 1,806 anti-drug operations in Western Visayas, resulting in the confiscation of over ₱514 million worth of illegal drugs.
