BAYUYAN SMALL FISHERFOLKS ASSOCIATION LAUNCHES TALABA CHIPS — ESTANCIA'S NEW LOCAL PRODUCT SUPPORTED BY LGU AND BFAR
ESTANCIA, Iloilo — A new crispy product from the rich oyster beds of Estancia is making waves in Northern Iloilo.
The Bayuyan Small Fisherfolks Association of Barangay Bayuyan, Estancia, Iloilo has officially introduced its local product — Talaba Chips, locally branded as D BEST TALABA CHIPS.
The product is made from fresh talaba harvested by the fisherfolks of Bayuyan, a coastal barangay known for its abundant oyster and fish resources. It is described by residents as crispy, savory, and proudly tatak Estanciahanon — perfect for those who want to relax and unwind.
According to the post of Dajema Gonzales, one of the association members, the group extends its gratitude to the Local Government Unit of Estancia through the Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO), led by Sir Jong Querubin Mendoza, for supporting small fisherfolk livelihoods, as well as to BFAR Region 6 for its continued support to local fisheries.
The launch is part of the ongoing supportlocal and supportlocalbusiness movement in Estancia, with the product gaining attention online after it was featured by Estancia Times Documentary, reaching over 5.6K views in 24 hours.
The association said the Talaba Chips aims to provide additional income to fisherfolk families while promoting Estancia's oyster products beyond the raw market — from fresh talaba to value-added snacks.
Residents who wish to order or support the association's product may contact Miss Dajema Gonzales at 0964-182-5828.
